Jim Crow and the Wilson Administration: Protesting Federal Segregation in the Early Twentieth Century

Mr. Patler talked about his book Jim Crow and the Wilson Administration: Protesting Federal Segregation in the Early Twentieth Century, published by University Press of Colorado. The author discussed the history of the Jim Crow segregation laws and how they caused conflicts within Woodrow Wilson's presidential campaign. During his presentation, Mr. Patler profiled lesser-known African-American equal rights leaders such as William Monroe Trotter. Mr. Jordan assisted with a reading of a screenplay describing the second meeting that Mr. Trotter had with President Wilson. Following his presentation, the author responded to questions from members of the audience.
