I wondered how our family came to have it. After some research, it was discovered that TC Weatherly, the slave trader from South Carolina mentioned in this webpage, was the older brother of my great great grandfather, Job Sobeski Weatherly. THere is good reason to believe that his slave profits were used to help his younger brother go to medical school.
